Catchup

This is a little bit of a catchup - after being so useless for a couple of years we thought it might be a good idea to get back into updating these sites (the bribe from my Mum and Dad helps).

It seems that Gabriel can mostly ride his bike - he has a lovely blue one - just like the one Linus has (only his is red). And when he remembers not to brake or take his feet off the pedals, it goes just fine.

He's bypassed the stabilisers stage after scooting around on his balance-bike for a long time (this now belongs to Asa).

Gabriel has his place at Discovery New School for this coming September. This is the same school that Linus moved to - he'll be in Year 3 in September while Gabriel will be in year 'R' (the one before Year 1).

His hearing is still a problem - while he can hear, it must just be not as clear as we'd hope (and perhaps not even as clear as it may have been at other times over the past months). If he 'fails' another audiology test in a few months they'll schedule him in to have grommets fitted.

It turns out that Gabriel is also a bit of a nurturer. Two of his favourite things right now are baby Esme (Aunty Melly's brand new little girl) and the little black kitten that has taken to hanging around our house, and coming inside whenever it gets the chance.

He doesn't look quite so sure here - the cat like to lick peoples ears, but he's so patient and gentle with them, he will sit for ages with either baby or kitten on his lap, holding tiny hands in his hand, or gently stroking fur, and telling noisy people to be quiet in case it disturbs his young charge...
